My Letter to Christian Caldeira from OBatR

This is a response to a letter Christian wrote recently.

Though it is sad that you will be doing your last show as Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls soon, I just wanted to let you know what a positive impact your music has had on my life.

I actually only discovered Wizard Rock a few days after Deathly Hallows, but it turned out that was when I needed it the most. Your music, especially (and I know you probably get this a lot) End of an Era. has helped me get through so many tough times, not just the end of Harry Potter. EoaE has become my sad times song. It helps me remember that I don't have to mourn the end of something good, I can celebrate it. Just the opening guitar strums can pull a smile out of me in my darkest moods. When your other instruments come in, I feel a whole sense of wellbeing through my whole self. EoaE is the theme song to the most important friendship I've had in my life. I remember sitting on a bench eating cake and singing it together, to each other, for mutual comfort. It's our song, and it will be forever, no matter what.

It's not just the lyrics (though they are amazing), the music you make is so beautiful it makes me cry in the best way. The way I cried when Harry used the Ring of Requirement to talk to his parents and Sirius and Remus. I can't stop myself from harmonising with you in Trio in Trouble. You inspire the music in me when I'm not even a majorly musically inclined person

Mischief Managed was my ringtone for almost a year. I had a happy dance for everytime I got a phone call, because that song just makes me so darn happy. You know you're good at the emotions thing, right?

I hope you read this, because basically I want to say a big fat happy thankyou.

You're awesome. I can't wait to hear your muggle music.

Love Kalinda

Thank you for your kind words Kalinda.
It's after hearing stories like this that I truly remember the drive behind wizard rock.

I'm glad that the music I've made has yielded positivity in your life, and hopefully it will continue to.

Thank you for being part of a crazy and wonderful 4 years of my life.
I wouldn't change it for anything.

Be well,

Christian
